Dioxin - Gerhardt Introduce easy way to extract using Hydrotherm and Soxtherm

Dioxins are a group of highly toxic persistent organic pollutants (POPs).

U.S. Food and Drug Administration recently developed a unified extraction method which

used Hydrotherm and Soxtherm system.

The typical analysis method requires the use of high resolution gas chromatography and high-resolution mass spectrometry (HRGC/HRMS) on purified sample extracts. It’s the reference method in this study.

The extraction process for POPs can be manually exhaustive for many matrices, this study has been investigating alternate extraction techniques to minimize variation between matrices while automating the process. The report showed milk as the example, but the feasibility of eggs, animal feeds, and tissue were also completed in this study.
